We're moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, friends, and fans - with one goal in common - supporting our Kingswood hockey teams through fundraising efforts and community cooperation.
How did Friends of Kingswood Hockey come about?
In late 2023, instead of feeling helpless when they learned that their school booster club was disallowed from fundraising for local locker rooms at their newly renovated home ice rink, Pop Whalen Ice & Arts Center, a group of hockey parents decided to think a little bigger, roll up their sleeves, and get to work.
It has been said, "If you want something done, ask a busy person." Within two weeks a board was formed and registered as a non-profit 501c3 organization. In just over a year, The Friends of Kingswood Hockey have raised over $100,000 towards their $250,000 commitment to provide locker rooms to Kingswood High School hockey players for the next 40 years (and counting).
