On Sunday, March 15th, 2026, Team Hoyt will take on the Boston Bruins Alumni team in a charity hockey game. The game will take place at the Mullins Center at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with puck drop happening at 2pm.
All the funds raised from the event will benefit the Hoyt Foundation a charitable 501(c)(3). You can make a donation supporting one or more of the Team Hoyt players in their fundraising commitment.
The connection between the Hoyt family and the Boston Bruins goes back to when Rick Hoyt was just 13 years old. Rick’s first words using a computer-based device were “Go Bruins!” The statement was a reflection of Rick’s love for the Bruins and sports.
For years following the connection between the Hoyt family and the Boston Bruins was one of inspiration. A magical moment was when the Bruins Stanley Cup Championship team watched the Hoyt story “Imagine” in the locker room prior to game seven. The Hoyt story not only motivated the Bruins to a Stanley Cup Championship, but inspired captain Zdeno Chara following his retirement to take part in endurance sports raising funds while representing Team Hoyt.
This charity hockey game on March 15, will give all fans the opportunity to meet the Boston Bruins Alumni, take part in a half time chuck-a-puck, and so much more! If you have any questions or would like to be an event sponsor, please email bjwilliams9@gmail.com
